Discover nature through experience

Themed activity suitcases invite you on a journey through the museum; in the nature lab, a bear is waiting to make contact; for young researchers with a passion for rocks and crystals, the geology lab offers a wide variety of materials; and through our animal stories, you can take an imaginary journey into strange (micro) worlds: Our family activities inspire a deep understanding of nature. Unless otherwise noted, these activities are open to all age groups. Guests aged 14 and older may visit the museum unaccompanied.

Two PICA trails are also available at the museum reception desk: The “Museum Highlights” trail leads to the most famous exhibits and is suitable for families who are not yet very familiar with the museum. The “Activity Trail” on the other hand, highlights areas in the museum where visitors can get hands-on. Both trails are available in German and French.

We present the current program in our PICA newsletter and in the PICA - offers for families & children (folded poster). The program poster is available at the cash desk - where the discovery cases are stationed. On the back of the printed program flyer there is a quiz or a scavenger hunt through the museum: you can report the solution at the museum reception and collect a small prize. Good luck!
