Our events and exhibitions are public occasions where we are permitted to take photographs. However:
- We will notify visitors in the museum when photographs are being taken that include people.
- Our photographers don’t hide! If we focus prominently on you, the photographers will approach you.
- Anyone who does not wish to appear in any of the photos can speak directly to the photographers at any time.
- Minors are photographed only in a way that makes them unrecognizable (out of focus, from behind). Otherwise, we obtain permission from their legal guardians (e.g., when photographing a school visit).
- Even with written consent, we limit the publication of images featuring minors to an absolute minimum.
- We publish images of events and from our exhibition spaces in our print materials (program booklets, event flyers) and on our online channels (website, social media). If you do not wish for your image to be published, please speak directly to the photographers during the event.
- If you were photographed at an event and have questions about the use of the images, please contact us.
- If third parties (e.g., journalists, television stations) are taking photos or filming at our venue, they will be informed of our guidelines and applicable laws.
- These days, almost everyone carries a camera phone. We cannot accept responsibility for photographs taken by third parties who post images of our public events on their channels. - And, of course, opinions can change. If you find an older photo of yourself on our site and no longer wish for it to be publicly accessible, you can also contact us.
