This event will be held in German language.

During this behind-the-scenes tour, the taxidermy workshop takes the public into its workshop. Our guests get an insight into the unique production process of new exhibition objects.

In this one-hour guided tour, everything revolves around interesting aspects of mold construction of preparations. The sculptural way, starting with the small model and ending with the life-size exhibit, will be shown. For example, our taxidermists show an almost completed giant turtle from the Seychelles, which is just waiting to be covered with skin. Using a black-nosed sheep as an example, they present various methods of carving and modelling a realistic replica of the animal body. The fascination of recreating animals as close to nature as possible is the driving force behind the work, which is immersed in detail every day.
