Protective measures

Covid 19

We are open and look forward to your visit!

Updated on 29.06.2021:

Our protective measures are based on federal and cantonal requirements and are continuously adapted to current conditions:

The restricted entry capacities have been lifted. Nevertheless, there may be waiting times in bad weather, at weekends and on weekdays between 1 and 3 pm. We ask for your understanding.

Masks are compulsory throughout the museum. Children up to their 12th birthday are exempt from this obligation during a regular visit to the museum. However, children are required to wear masks when visiting events (animal drawing and Pica Club).

Consumption of drinks and food from the cafeteria is permitted with registration at the available tables indoors and outdoors.

Picnicking is permitted in our picnic area on the 1st and 3rd floor and in the garden.

Due to the protective measures, some of the museum's offerings will be closed or not usable, including the Discovery Corner, the Geolab and the Discovery Suitcases. We thank you for your understanding.

School classes are subject to the rules of school operation and the museum's distance and hygiene measures apply to other visitors. We recommend dividing larger classes (15 pupils or more) and ask groups to visit the museum with sufficient chaperones.

We place a high value on implementing the hygiene and distance measures. We also ask visitors to comply with the known rules of the FOPH.

Please keep your distance from other visitors and stay at home if you feel ill.

We thank you for following the instructions of our staff.
